To analyze injury pattern, surgical therapy, radiologic results, and functional outcome in unstable B-type and C-type pelvic ring fractures.Retrospective study.Level I University Trauma Center.Two-hundred-twenty-two consecutive patients, admitted during a nine-year period with unstable B-type (n = 100) and C-type (n = 122) pelvic ring injuries, of whom 122 (61.3 percent of surviving patients) were eligible for evaluation with a minimum follow-up of one year.Staged reconstruction dependent upon injury pattern. Abstract Abductor true vocal cord paralysis is a complex condition that requires the surgeon to perform an emergency tracheotomy to eliminate the symptom of dyspnea. Throughout the past 20 years, corrective surgery has reverted to techniques using external or endoscopic techniques. For 5 years now, we have used high frequency radiosurgery by Ellman to treat various ENT conditions in our clinic. The experience we have gained has encouraged us to use this method in endoscopic surgery as well, in the treatment of laryngeal abductor paralysis under suspension microlaryngoscopy. Urethrocutaneous fistula repair after hypospadias surgery

OBJECTIVE To evaluate and compare the success rates of simple and layered repairs of urethrocutaneous fistulae after hypospadias repair. PATIENTS AND METHODS The charts of 72 children who developed fistulae after hypospadias repair were reviewed; 39 had a simple closure of the fistula, whereas 32 had a 'pants over vest' repair, in all cases after excluding an impairment of urine outflow. RESULTS The success rate at the first attempt was 74% for simple closure and 94% for the layered repair; at the second attempt it was 80% and 100%, the difference being statistically significant for both repairs.
